Construction of the first gas group to generate electricity

The completion rate in the first gas group at the Rastan power plant in Lattakia has reached 80% with the installation of the first gas turbine and the main transformer on their basic bases.

When it is put into service at the end of this year, its capacity is expected to reach 183 megawatts out of the station’s total capacity of 526 megawatts.

The project manager, Engineer Nazir Danoura, stated that work is continuing at a high pace and through several shifts to finish all civil, construction and infrastructure works in order to install the equipment upon its arrival directly, pointing out that the concrete foundations of the first gas turbine, generator and main transformer and the bases of the machinery hall have been installed.
