A memorandum with Iran to desalinate drinking water

The Ministry of Water Resources in Syria announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Iranian side, to enhance cooperation in the field of desalination of drinking water, to establish sewage treatment plants, and to exchange experiences with regard to the water sector.

During the past years, many agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed in the fields of energy, industry, agriculture, telecommunications, banking, reconstruction, increasing joint investments, and facilitating the entry of the Iranian private sector to work in the Syrian market.

A few days ago, the “Iranian” Trade Center was inaugurated in the “Damascus Free Zone”, which includes 24 Iranian companies, through which Iran seeks to increase its exports to Syria to the level of one billion dollars, while its exports do not exceed 180 million dollars.
