The Director of Veterinary Medicines at the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Ziyad Nammour, stated that during recent years there are a number of stopped laboratories that have resumed their production and re-entered the production process. New drug production plants and lines have also been licensed. They are currently producing veterinary pharmaceutical preparations, as the number of preparations has reached Licensing of 258 products has been granted.

Dr. Nammour indicated that exports amounted to 2.1 million dollars during the current year, equivalent to two billion and 100 million Syrian pounds.

Dr. Nammour pointed out that local production covers nearly 70% of livestock needs, in addition to entering regional and international markets.
