The Syrian government has proposed allocating 1,500 billion Syrian pounds to investment credits, within the framework of preparing the state’s general budget for the next year (2021), which constitutes, upon approval, an increase of 25% over the credits approved in the budget for the current year, as it was set at 1,200 billion pounds.

In the details of allocating the proposed amount for investment operations in the budget of 2021 to the ministries, the largest amount was the share of the Ministry of Electricity, for which about 140 billion pounds were allocated, followed by the Ministry of Local Administration and Environment with 120 billion pounds, and the Ministry of Water Resources with 75 billion pounds, then transportation The amount of 60 billion pounds.

An amount of 50 billion pounds has been allocated to the Ministry of Agriculture, 45 billion pounds for industry, 40 billion pounds for education, the same for higher education, 35 billion pounds for oil, 30 billion pounds for the interior, 24 billion pounds for public works, the same for health, 20 billion pounds for finance, 15 billion pounds for internal trade and consumer protection, 12 billion pounds for the bodies affiliated to the Prime Minister, and similar to the Ministry of Information, 6 billion pounds for communications, 5 billion pounds for culture, 4.5 billion pounds for justice, 3 billion pounds for tourism, 2.5 billion pounds for administrative development, 2 billion for the Ministry of Economy, the same for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 1.5 billion pounds for social affairs and work, and 0.2 billion pounds for endowments.

An amount of 715 billion pounds has been allocated for standby projects, 5 billion pounds for working capital for economic public sector agencies, and 10 billion pounds for reconstruction, rehabilitation, and others.
