A high-level video conference on “Belt and Road” cooperation was held in Beijing. Chinese President Xi Jinping made a written speech at the conference, while State Councilor and Chinese Foreign Minister Wan Yi presided over it. The conference was attended by foreign ministers or officials at the level of a minister from 25 countries in addition to the Director-General of the World Health Organization, the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Director of the United Nations Development Program.
In his speech, Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed that China is committed to peaceful development and mutual benefit, and that China is ready to work with partners to make the “Belt and Road” a path of cooperation in facing challenges and a way to preserve people’s health and safety in addition to being a path of economic and social recovery and growth that opens up the potential Development.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that the “Belt and Road” initiative has become the largest international cooperation platform in the world thanks to the active participation and full support of all parties concerned.
Conference participants positively commented on the establishment of this conference by China, and thanked China for its efforts and contributions in promoting joint building of the “Belt and Road” and international cooperation in combating the epidemic.
