A proposal to amend the port’s tariffs in Euros instead of US dollar

The Administrative Committee of the General Company for Latakia Port proposed to approve the amendment of the port tariff issued by the Prime Minister No. 3697 dated 21/12/2015 in Euros instead of the US dollar.

According to the book issued by the company and directed to the Chamber of Maritime Navigation, a letter has been prepared for the Ministry of Transport in order to obtain the approval of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers to be implemented in full.

The company’s letter indicated that in the meeting of the company’s administrative committee held on 6/7/2020, the port tariff for the work of international Latakia container companies in Euros instead of the US dollar was approved, to be implemented on the following day from the issuance of the executive decision duly in accordance with the authority of the administrative committee .

The Maritime Chamber had written to the company to collect the allowances and fees charged by the public authorities involved in maritime transport, “ports – ports – container terminal” according to the tariffs in force in euros instead of the US dollar, with the possibility of opening accounts for these authorities with private banks in order to pay the various allowances and fees to be collected
