Electronic payment service in Syria

The Central Bank of Syria is working to activate the electronic payment service at points of sale at the “Syrian Trade Corporation”.

The bank indicated that it is working with commercial and real estate banks to enable the citizen to use the bank card to purchase basic commodities from the institution, noting that this procedure will be temporary until it is ready with the intention of electronic payment.

The electronic payments company affiliated with the “Ministry of Communications and Technology” undertakes the implementation of the e-government system, especially with regard to bills and fees, by linking public bodies such as water and electricity with each other, and then linking them with government and private banks that make the payment process.
