Establishing a network of belt and road studies

Beijing, 24/4/2019, announced the establishment of the Belt and Road Studies Network jointly sponsored by Xinhua News Agency and 15 Chinese and foreign research centers. The move comes in response to Chinese President Xi Jinping’s proposal to activate the role of think tanks and create a coalition of thought and studies.

This network of studies is a mechanism for academic exchange and cooperation. Participants are mainly intellectual institutions and media organizations, as well as international organizations, research institutions and scientists. Its purpose is to provide services to international and regional think tanks to encourage research and exchange of ideas on topics related to the belt and road, and to promote theoretical innovation and knowledge dissemination.
